Plan

We at Plan have a vision of a world in which all children and young people realise their full potential, in societies that respect their rights and their dignity. We have been helping children and their families in 50 of the world’s poorest countries to break the cycle of poverty. For almost 70 years now, we have invested in education, health – including sexual and reproductive health and HIV/AIDS – economic security, water and sanitation, protection, and emergencies.

We put children and young people at the heart of everything we do, working not only for but also with them. We call this a child-centered approach. In this way, we aim to encourage and help children and young people to take part in the development of their community by listening to what they have to say about their rights, needs and concerns. We also involve children and young people in finding the solutions for their problems, as we strongly believe that long lasting development is only reachable by cooperation between adults and children!

The Plan EU Office in Brussels helps the Plan national organisations in the European Union (EU) and in Norway link to each other and to all our offices around the world. We help share information about what the EU is doing. Our goals is to make sure that the promotion, protection and fulfillment of children’s rights are priorities for state leaders, politician and other influential actors in Europe.
